THE TENNESSEAN
Nashville homebuilder Tarrick Love has years of experience behind a hammer. For his latest role, he had to get comfortable in front of a television camera as a contestant on NBC’s newest reality series, “American Dream Builders.”
The one-hour show, which premieres at 7 p.m. March 23, features retired Tennessee Titans football star Eddie George as one of the judges. He is a co-founder of EDGE, a landscape architecture firm that has completed high-profile projects throughout Middle Tennessee and other states.
Love, who operates Hart-Love Enterprises with his wife, Tanisha Hart-Love, is one of 12 top designers and builders from around the country participating in a high-stakes competition. Each week, two teams of contestants will stretch their creative reach as they tackle two total home renovation projects. At the end of each episode, the judges will send one participant home until the final week, when the two remaining participants will compete for the grand prize of $250,000.
“That’s one of the worst feelings of your life,” Love said of the weekly vote to kick one contestant off the job site. “You’re getting to know people; you’re starting to love them. You work as a team and you think, ‘How can I lose this person?’ ”
